FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LUDCI.eu, a new Diplomacy and Communications Institute connecting global communities to raise awareness of social impact initiatives, was recently featured in an episode of Futurized – dedicated to The Future of Human Trafficking.

Luxembourg City, Luxembourg – 27 August 2020 – LUDCI.edu, a Diplomacy and communications Institute that leverages media diplomacy to combat child trafficking, is opening its virtual doors this month.

In connection with the launch, LUDCI.edu was exclusively featured on Futurized, a popular podcast hosted by futurist Trond Arne Undheim dedicated to covering stories that deal with deep reflections on all aspects of the emerging future. The host of Futurized, Undheim is a serial author, investor, and entrepreneur with a Ph.D. on AI/cognition and the future of work. He is also the founder of Yegii, Inc., the insight network. The show went live this week to a global audience in 28 countries.

In the latest episode, Vassilia Orfanou, Communications Director, LUDCI.eu, discussed the institute’s launch. ”The fragmentation of actors hampers media’s ability to cover the stories and make progress in the field”, Orfanou says, adding that “LUDCI.eu will channel existing child trafficking initiatives, programs, data and policy to make the work more visible”. Orfanou brings a Ph.D. on the impact of media in the early warning of international crises to her new role at LUDCI.eu.

During the podcast, Orfanou and Undheim discussed the situation of child trafficking across the globe, a multi-billion-dollar industry, the role of technology as a double-edged sword, and the need to inspire a new generation of global leaders to address such challenges. “We are excited to be featured on Futurized,” remarked Vassilia Orfanou. “There are so many pressing issues in society today, including the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been a pleasure to collaborate with Trond and incorporate his experience and expertise in the emerging world into LUDCI.eu”.

Following Orfanou’s research on the media’s struggle to properly cover child trafficking, she explains the need to invest in scaling such efforts using a social impact platform. LUDCI.eu aims to enhance publicity efforts and drive media diplomacy alongside IGOs, NGOs, law enforcement agencies, research institutions, startups, and SMEs to fight against child trafficking and other violations against children.

Intending to drive global awareness and early warning efforts concerning a wide range of global issues, LUDCI.eu takes audiences to the frontlines but also features the deep data efforts behind programmatic initiatives. LUDCI.eu is shortly launching an online magazine and eJournal, specifically receiving submissions focused on the effects of COVID-19 opening the eyes of readers to the unique citizen perspective around the world. The deadline for contributions is 30 August 2020.
