Consider NI, Denmark’s leading electricity grid company; NI successfully leverages Ai to transform the cable cabinet inspection system, bolstering efficiency and saving costs. The company uses Ai to collate data on more than 180,000 cable cabinets spread across the Jutland service area; this reduces physical inspections, saving time.

The government leverages AI, offering public funding to support projects like “Intelligent Fleet Management and Climate-Friendly Driving,” which ran in five municipalities in 2021–2022.
The fleet management system uses a special tool developed by Droids Agency and Quampo; it simulates the driving data and routes covering specific areas. The project was implemented in Aarhus, Syddjurs, and Slagelse. It decreased the fleet size in Aarhus by 15% without loss of efficiency, potentially reducing carbon emissions by 30–70% and supporting Denmark’s 2050 carbon neutrality goals.

The institution has emerged as a trailblazer in Ai innovation, propelling technological advancement across sectors. The adoption of generative Ai in Denmark’s banks is helping employees focus on core projects and responsibilities and benefiting customers. Danske, one of Denmark’s top financial institutions, has embraced Ai, identifying new competencies; the bank is actively hunting for talents to take up new jobs that didn’t exist before.
In 2024, the bank increased investments in generative Ai, giving employees access to Ai tools. It adopted the Forward ’28 strategy, doubling investments in digital and Ai platforms. It focuses on adopting new applications and repositioning itself toward cloud solutions. The focus includes Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and DanskeGPT, an internal smart assistant.
Frank Woelders, Danske Bank’s Chief Operating Officer, says: “We provide new generative Ai solutions that can be used in diverse business units. We expect generative Ai to support our colleagues and advisors so time can be spent on value-added services.”
Mr. Woelders concludes: “We’ve released DanskeGPT, an innovative new tool; we’re exploring other tools as a potential investment. We hope these will assist employees with writing tasks, testing codes, preparing meeting notes, creating presentations, writing summaries, and tackling time-consuming tasks.”
